Jamboree on the Air

The Jamboree-on-the-Air, or JOTA, is the largest Scouting event in the world. It is held annually the third full weekend in October. Pack 11 joined JOTA at Chickagami Park in Geauga County along with a couple scouts from Troop 662. The weather was perfect and we even had enough wind to get Nolan’s enormous kite into the air.

We started the day with a baseball game, then setup camp and cooked a big pot of chili for lunch, hiked over to the radio shack and connected with scouts around the country, went on two geocaching hikes, and ended the day with pizza and smores.
